The Swans Trust have confirmed that they have two new faces on the Trust board, both of whom will serve from 1st January 2017.
The Trust have confirmed that Roger Goodwin and Mathew Griffiths, both of whom stood for election back in the summer, will take places on the board that have become available following recent departures from the board.
As members will be aware Huw Cooze stood down from his role as Supporter Director at the end of October, and the Trust can now also confirm that Jim White, the Trust vice chair, has stood down from his role to concentrate on the growth of his business.
Commenting on the changes, Trust Chair Phil Sumbler said:
Firstly it is with regret that we see Jim standing down. He has informed the board of his decision, which is driven by the increased time that the Trust role has required in recent months, and Jim feels that this has meant a neglect of his business which should never be the case.
However, we have to respect his decision and thank him for the enthusiasm, dedication and expertise that he has brought to our cause over the past ten years, and we wish him and his family the very best for the future.
I am pleased though to welcome both Roger and Matt to the board. Roger has already shared some excellent thoughts on how we can increase and encompass our junior memberships, whilst Matt brings a very strong experience to the board, and both were excellent candidates back in the summer when they stood for election.
I know that both will bring new skills to the board and I look forward to working with them.”
The Trust can also confirm that Will Morris, our Associate Director, will add the role of Vice Chairman to his duties following the departure of Jim.
