Farewell to Carlos

May 19, 2018

The Swansea City Supporters’ Trust wishes to thank Carlos Carvalhal and his staff for their contribution during their short period at the Club. Carlos’ appointment had an immediate impact and the two memorable victories against Liverpool and Arsenal in January gave us all the belief that we could achieve another ‘great escape’. Unfortunately things did not work out during the final run in and we understand the need for change as we look to re-build our Club following relegation.

The Supporters’ Trust last week urged the majority owners to learn from the mistakes of the last few years and implement the necessary changes to ensure our football club regains its sense of identity. The appointment of a new manager is a key element in that and we do recognise it has to be completed in plenty of time to prepare for the new Season. Equally important however is the need for the appointment to be made in conjunction with other changes to the running of the footballing side of the Club if we are to move forward on a positive footing.
