Good afternoon and welcome to the Swansea City Supporters’ Trust programme page. As usual we’d like to welcome today’s guests, Derby County, and their fans to the Liberty Stadium for today’s match.
In today’s article we’d like to move away from football matters a little and highlight an exciting new partnership the Supporters Trust has formed as part of our ongoing work with the local community.
The Swansea City Supporters’ Trust is delighted to announce a new joint working initiative with Swansea Mind that will run throughout the whole of 2020.
We will work closely with Swansea Mind on a number of pilot programmes in and around Swansea. These programmes are all designed to promote and increase awareness of mental health and how it can impact on us, our families and friends.
The Supporters Trust is all too aware of a number of instances in the recent past of how some of our members and supporters of Swansea City have been directly affected by mental health issues. We feel the time is right to play our part in increasing awareness and we are really looking forward to working in partnership with Swansea Mind over the coming months.
We plan to support Swansea Mind in various fundraising activities throughout 2020, starting today when a cheque for £1,000 will be presented to Swansea Mind during the half-time interval. These funds are the proceeds from the excellently supported ten pin bowling night which was organised jointly by the Trust and Swansea City Football Club last month.
We would like to take this opportunity to thank Swansea Ten Pin, the organisers, supporters and of course Steve Cooper and his players for making it a night to remember.
More details of the partnership and our planned initiatives will be announced over the course of 2020 but if anyone would like to learn more or get involved please email admin@swanseamind.org.uk or info@swanstrust.co.uk. You can also call Swansea Mind on 01792 642999 or visit their drop-in centre at 66 St. Helens Road, Swansea, SA1 4BE
Moving briefly back to the Swans, February is a critical time for us with 7 games throughout the month which will play a large part in determining our fortunes this season. We’re sure the Jack Army will be in fine voice today as we look to continue our excellent run of form at home and secure the three points that will keep us firmly in contention for promotion!
As usual, we’d like to remind everyone that your Swans’ Trust representatives can be found at the pod outside the West Stand prior to today’s match and that you can keep up with all Trust news at www.swanstrust.co.uk or via our Twitter, Facebook or Instagram pages.
