As you will have seen from the recent announcement here, the Swans and your Supporters Trust have been working together to provide fans with various options surrounding the refund of 2019/20 season tickets for the remainder of this season, due to the decision to play all games behind-closed-doors due to the Covid-19 pandemic.
We’d like to thank all the club’s management team for the proactive way they have engaged and collaborated with the Trust on this issue. It was important to us that refunds were made available to fans if they so wish but also that alternative options were available as we are aware of the financial impact to the club of the current crisis and the wish of many of our fans to assist. It was also important to us that the goodwill of the fans was not taken for granted, which is why we are happy that options are available that benefit the fans should they choose not to take the refund option. This exercise demonstrates the benefits of an organisation that is able to represent the interests of the fans within our club and we look forward to continuing this level of collaboration in the future as other issues arise.
We know we can always rely on the Jack Army to do their bit. However other parties also need to step up as it cannot be right that fans are the only ones to financially contribute to support the club during this crisis. We have previously commented that cuts to the salaries of those earning more than most fans can dream of is a necessity during a period when revenues will be severely impacted. We reiterate that call today. We also reiterate our call to our fellow shareholders to work with us to address the issues arising from this crisis, and other issues that continue to exist, in order to ensure our club can survive and thrive during this crisis and beyond.
