When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I joined the Trust Board in August 2023, probably for the same reason everyone else: I believe wholeheartedly that supporters should have a say in the way their club is run. Football is becoming more commercial each season and, if we’re not careful, we’re at risk of forgetting the reason it exists in the first place – for the fans. The European Super League debacle demonstrated how powerful and influential fans can be when they speak in a unified voice. It’s a cliché, but you really do get more strength in numbers.

What is your role at the Trust?

I am more than willing to muck in wherever needed but, given my background, my main focus will be helping the Trust with its PR and communications. The Board have done an amazing job in this area already and I hope I can help them build on that good work in the coming weeks and months. I will also sit on the membership & fundraising committee.

What are your views on the future and how will you support that?

It’s easy to be negative when assessing the state of the game, but I am cautiously optimistic. Yes, the game is hyper-commercialised these days but I am heartened by how determined fans are – not just here but all over – to have their voices heard. Money doesn’t make the game better, the fans do. All of the work the Trust does is seen through that lens – and, for me, that is a great thing.

Best Swans memory?

That’s easy. It has to be the 1994 Autoglass Trophy final. I was only nine at the time, so I don’t remember much of the game, but I’ve got a soft spot for that team. Naively, I thought it would all be up from there. My father and I were on crutches at the time, so jumping up for the goal and penalty celebrations was a bit of a challenge to say the least.
