As part of Swansea Council’s COAST Grant Funding Programme, the Swans Trust is delighted to present four more events that aim to delve into the rich and proud heritage of Swansea City Football Club, with a view to bringing together fans who remember or would like to learn more about the history of our football club.
Under the terms of the funding, and building on a series of popular heritage-based events held earlier this year at the Swansea.com stadium, the talks are packed with images, video clips and stories not widely shared before. They are aimed at over 50’s who are resident in the Swansea area so even if you live further afield or are unable to attend you may well have friends or family who would like to come along to one of the 4 events? Moreover, all talks are FREE and are open to anyone to attend – not just members of the Swans Trust.
All of the talks will once again be prepared and delivered by Award Winning local Author and Sports Writer, David Brayley.
David is in his 51st season as a supporter of the Swans and is a Swans Trust Ambassador. He has written four books linked to the club, two featuring former players, Tony Cottey and club legend, Ashley Williams. He has also made a film about the extraordinary story of the five Welsh International players to have been produced by one single Swansea community, Alice Street in Cwmdu. These FREE two hour talks and presentations by David covering the ‘Post War Period and the Golden Days of the 1950’s’ will be held at the following venues and booking is recommended:
