Swansea City legend Alan Curtis receives MBE

The Swans Trust was delighted to learn that Swans legend and Trust Honorary President Alan Curtis was finally able to pick up his MBE yesterday after being recognised in the Queen’s 2021 New Year’s Honours List.

The club released the news yesterday afternoon here

Alan has served our club with distinction throughout his long career, enjoying three spells as a player, three spells as caretaker manager, a variety of senior and youth coaching roles and even our first Football in the Community officer. He has also served Wales with distinction, being capped 35 times and even coaching at Under-21 and Senior levels.

Alan is now a regular matchday host at the club and has also recently taken on the role of Swansea City Former Player Association lifelong President.

The Trust is proud that Alan has served as Trust President since the formation of the Trust in 2001, and it was fitting he was also awarded the title of Club President by the Swans in 2019.

We are delighted that Alan’s service to our club, and Welsh football, has been recognised and we’d like to congratulate Alan, Clare and their family on finally being able to go to Buckingham Palace to receive the MBE.
