Autumn Update

After an exciting opening to the season and the Swans sitting proudly at the top of the Championship table, I thought I’d update everyone on some of what the Trust Board have been doing over the past few weeks and outline a few upcoming 25th Anniversary events that members and supporters may be interested in coming along to.

Updated Swans Trust Website

Thanks to the hard work of our website developers and representatives of the Trust Board we have given our Trust website a refresh to help recognise we are heading into our 25th Anniversary season.

As well as updating our images and some of our existing pages we are introducing two new sections which I hope you will find useful:

  • Upcoming Events – this will be a simple run down with necessary booking links of everything that we are arranging ourselves or are aiming to be a significant part of this season. As usual all current Trust members will be given advance notice of anything we arrange to allow them a chance to book before any remaining tickets go on general release. We will be adding events to this page as the season progresses so please remember to have a look from time to time to ensure you don’t miss out on anything that you’d like to come along to.

  • Share your Memories – to help celebrate the 25th Anniversary of the Trust we are inviting members and supporters to share and submit memorable photographs, press cuttings and stories that relate to the Trust since it’s formation back in 2001. For more details and how to submit copies of anything of interest you may have and would like to share please click here

Meet the Trust Board

Now all of our new Trust board members have has a bit of time to settle into their roles members and supporters can learn a little more about them on our “Meet the Trust Board” section.

Trust Volunteers

While we have a very hard-working group of volunteers in place on the Trust Board we are always looking for more members and supporters to help us in the wide variety of work we are responsible for.

In particular we currently have a vacancy for our Secretary position and if anyone is interested in learning more please visit our Trust website here or come and see us at the Trust kiosk before any of our home games.

Trust Membership

Thank you to every one of our Trust members who have already renewed this season either online here, via direct debit or in person at the Trust kiosk.

If you haven’t had chance yet it takes just a few minutes to renew/join for no more than £5 for the season and we are always looking for new members to join us.

All your subscriptions and donations go towards a wide variety of projects and sponsorships such as those mentioned below and you also become part of the Trust with our permanently protected stake in the Club and two seats on the Swansea City AFC Board of Directors.

You can quickly sign up or login to check and update your Trust members account here. And if you ever have any questions you’d prefer to discuss in person just pop over and see us at the Trust kiosk next to the Club shop before any of our home games or email us at info@swanstrust.co.uk

And for awareness we will shortly be sending round an automated email reminder to anyone on our database who, according to our records, has yet to renew their Trust membership this season.

Armed Forces & Veterans Trust Membership

As part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations this season we’ve launched a new free membership category for anyone who is currently serving in the armed forces or is a service veteran. This includes overseas supporters serving in their country’s forces.

We’ve already seen some new Trust members join us in the past few weeks and anyone who is a serving or retired armed forces member is also very welcome to join us by clicking HERE

To help commemorate our 25th Anniversary celebrations all current Trust members can now collect their anniversary pin badge, key ring, car windscreen sticker and fixture card from the Trust kiosk before any of our home matchdays.

Unfortunately, we are unable to post these out for free due to the costs of postage and packing but if anyone in the UK would like us to send a pack out just click HERE and make a minimum donation of £5 to help cover our costs, sign into (or create) your Trust account, make your payment and send us an email to info@swanstrust.co.uk to confirm your request and we will arrange to post them out to you as soon as we can.

Home Matchdays

Members and supporters are reminded that representatives from the Trust Board are always around before kick-off at our Trust Kiosk located next to the Club shop, also known as The Foundry.

As well as catching up with old and new faces and addressing any questions anyone has, we provide copies of the official team sheet with our Trust programme notes from around an hour before kick-off with all of your generous donations this season going towards the work of the Swansea Veterans Hub

We do remind everyone to call and pick these up as early as possible as our Trust kiosk volunteers aim to close half an hour before the scheduled kick-off time.

Trust Online Raffle

Thanks to the work and generosity of our Board Members and local companies we are still collating an exciting range of great prizes that will be available to all our members and supporters in our 25th Anniversary Online Raffle that we’ll be announcing more details about and how to enter in the near future.

We’ll have 25 prizes generously donated that so far include:

  • Flat screen TV
  • Gas fired BBQ
  • Match tickets
  • Club store vouchers
  • Plantasia tickets

All proceeds from this online raffle will be going towards the Swansea Veterans Hub who we are proud to support in whatever way we can for the coming season.

Swansea Veterans Hub

As mentioned previously our chosen charity partner this season is the Swansea Veterans Hub. They are an amazing group of volunteers who aim to bring veterans out of isolation and give them a place to socialise and make new friends.

We are delighted to support them where every penny of what we collect from our team sheets and programme notes we produce on match days will go towards their amazing work.

Remembrance Day – Sunday 8th November

Once again, the Swans Trust will be holding its Remembrance Day service on Sunday, November 8th 2026 where Trust and Club President Alan Curtis MBE will be placing a wreath at the WW1 plaque at the Swansea.com Stadium.

The plaque, commissioned by the Supporters’ Trust in 2014, remembers those Swansea Town players who lost their lives in the conflict.

The wreath will be placed during a short ceremony that will commence around 10.45am for which we are again hugely grateful to Wayne Jenkins and the Swansea Veterans Hub for their help and support.

Everyone is welcome to attend.

Swansea Town / City FC: The Comprehensive Player A-Z

As part of our 25th Anniversary celebrations we are pleased to be part of the official launch of Niall O’Brien’s exciting new book “Swansea Town / City FC: The Comprehensive Player A-Z” that includes a comprehensive and in-depth look into all first team players up until 2025.

It provides a full and fascinating record where Niall has brought years of research, stories and Swansea history together for his first published book.

We still have a few free places left so why not come along and join Niall, Leon Britton, Alan Curtis and other former players and club legends for the launch of this amazing piece of work and listen to some of his stories that went behind the years of research in a Q&A.

We are also hugely indebted to Mal Pope for agreeing to be our host for the event.

Our remaining tickets are free to book online HERE for what we are sure will be an event to remember.

For more details of Niall’s new book please visit his swanseacityafc-a-to-z.com website or the Facebook page that Niall has created here

Trust Heritage Projects

As many of you are aware the Swans Trust has spent a great deal of time over the past few years on a wide variety of Heritage related projects and with the help or very proactive working group we are embarking on a number of exciting projects to roll out over the next year or so.

These include both existing areas of work that we know are popular with our members and supporters and some new initiatives that we will announce once underway or completed.

One of these is the launch of the Swansea City Supporters’ Trust Swansea Town/City FC Legacy Project (1912-2026) which is completely researched, compiled and edited by officers of the Swans Trust.

It recognises every player who has represented the club in a competitive first-team fixture by assigning a unique Legacy Number and covers the period from 1912 to date.

It provides a comprehensive record of the club’s playing heritage and ensures that every player has a permanent place in the club’s history and will be added to as more players represent the Swans in future first-team fixtures.

We will be announcing more details of this exciting new project early next week.

Swansea City Supporter Advisory Board (SAB)

We are pleased to see the selection process for the new SAB is nearing its conclusion. The Trust have been actively involved in the interview process that narrowed down the candidates to a shortlist of 10 and voting for the final 6 places on the SAB ended earlier this week. They will then join a small number of selected supporter groups on the SAB one of which will be the Swans Trust as a founding member and we will announce who from the Trust Board will fill this role in the near future.

As we have stated publicly before, the Swans Trust is 100% behind this initiative and have supported and advised the Club in preparing for its launch and how it will be run. The new Independent Football Regulator (IFR) was formally created under the Football Governance Act. It has been created with fans at its heart; to ensure fans have a say in key decisions about their club’s identity and to oversee supporter engagement, ensuring that every club maintains a structured and meaningful dialogue with its fan base on key issues. The SAB is an extra level of supporter consultation and complies with good practice, giving additional assurance as part of the IFR licence process. Every club in the top five tiers of English football — Premier League down to the National League — must hold a provisional IFR licence ahead of the 2027/28 season.

The new SAB is – in our view – a natural successor to the Matchday Experience Working Group (MEWG) the Trust set up back in January 2024 which was made up of a panel of representatives from the Club, Trust and supporters.

This group helped with a number of initiatives all designed to help and improve all aspects of supporters matchday experience. More details of the MEWG and all the quarterly meeting reports can be found on our Trust website here

And the remit of the new SAB will in our opinion form another valuable gateway into the Club for the voices of our supporters to be heard and for the panel (which will include a Trust Board member) to help on a variety of supporter related matters.

We firmly believe the work of the SAB will not impact in any way to the ongoing and extremely productive two-way communication processes we have with CEO Tom Gorringe and the Club’s senior management team. We are fortunate to have built up an extremely professional relationship with key Club representatives that help both ourselves and the Club address key areas that we believe are of importance to the Trust and Swans supporters.

These areas of regular discussions and meetings include:

  • Season Tickets
  • Match Day Ticket Pricing
  • Travel
  • Accounting & Finance
  • The Stadium and our Training Facilities
  • Supporter Engagement & Events

Home Match Shuttle Bus Service

The Trust are pleased to see how the new matchday Shuttle Bus Service is being received and utilised by supporters over the past few home games.

As mentioned previously this is something we’ve been in regular discussions with the Club about for a good while as we feel it’s an important aspect of allowing as many supporters as possible to be able to easily and safely attend our home games.

This is still in its trial period so if you have any comments on how the service can be improved or modified just do so via the Club’s online feedback form here or emailing the Trust at info@swanstrust.co.uk

Global Jacks Initiative

Earlier this month thanks to the efforts of our Global Jacks working group we held our latest event in Swansea that drew together Swans supporters from all over the UK and the world. This included oversea representatives from Australia, Spain, Poland, Croatia, Slovenia, USA, Austria, Brazil and Sweden and it was wonderful meeting up with them all. They even got to see us pick up two exciting victories in a little over three days!

This initiative is going from strength to strength and anyone interested in learning more or being added to our Global Jacks mailing list just send me an email to globaljacks@swanstrust.co.uk

We also have a very active Global Jack Facebook group that now has well over 1500 members that I’d encourage anyone to join and get involved with. It’s really well managed by our International Trust affiliate and Swans Polska member Gary Hubschmid who regularly posts news stories and recently ran a successful competition that saw some great prizes being posted out across the world.

We are aiming to run another competition before too long so why not ask join our Facebook group here and get involved.

We also have X and Instagram social media account so if you do live further afield from Swansea and want to become part of the Global Jacks initiative there are lots of ways to do so.

We are really keen to ensure Swans supporters from all over the UK and the world can feel as close the Club as possible and if you ever need any guidance whenever coming to watch the Swans play just let us know by emailing globaljacks@swanstrust.co.uk as we are more than happy to help.

Grass Roots Football Sponsorship

I’m delighted to confirm that the Swans Trust has once again recently awarded nearly £10,000 in sponsorship to support regional junior and youth grassroots football in and around Swansea. We’ve been doing this for well over a decade but have significantly increased our sponsorship in the past couple of years thanks in no small part to the membership fees and donations from our Trust members.

The West Wales Women and Girls League, Swansea Junior Football League, Swansea Schools’ FA, and the Swansea Senior Association Football League (under 15s/16s) have all benefitted once again from these sponsorships and next month are all being invited along to our Quiz night to formally receive their sponsorship awards.

Working Collaboratively

My usual reminder that the Swans Trust Board are firm believers in collaboration, especially within an entirely voluntary organisation like ourselves.

While we all share the same passion of supporting the Swans we need to work closely alongside other important areas of the Club and the community. It may not always be apparent but the Trust now hold permanent positions and/or close working connections with:

We are delighted to continue supporting the excellent work of Julie Jones and her team of moderators who manage the Swansea City Supporters Group on Facebook by continuing to sponsor their increasingly popular “Guess the Gate?” competition before every home game for the 2026/27 season.

And recently we have added to the excitement by offering two home matchday tickets to anyone who guesses the EXACT attendance for a home game so please keep your guesses coming in on matchdays.

Trust Reports and Minutes

And don’t forget every month we produce detailed reports of all the work we are doing within our board meeting minutes that are always available to read on our website here
