Meet the Trust Board

The Trust Board is made up of Swansea City supporters, all of whom are passionate about representing the fan base and ensuring that their voice is heard in the running of the club.

Each of our Board Members are elected/appointed for a defined term (usually up to two years), to represent all Swans Trust Members and help take our organisation forward. The Trust Board also appoints a Secretary to support the running of the organisation and ensure we are able to effectively deliver our administrative and fiduciary responsibilities.

Co-opted Members are appointed on an annual basis to deliver specific programmes of work or provide specific skills and experiences to advance the interests of the organisation and our members.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I put my name forward for election to the Trust Board in August 2017 and August 2018 and despite not being elected was subsequently invited on both occasions as a co-opted member from September 2017.

After the 2019 elections, I was invited to stand as an elected board member and in July 2020 was elected as Vice Chair. In July 2021 I stood again as a board member and was subsequently elected as Trust Chair. I was pleased to have been elected Chair by the Trust board again in August 2022 and 2023. I originally applied for a Trust Board position back in 2017 as I wanted to get actively involved in the many challenges that I could see lay ahead for the Supporters’ Trust, especially in how it translated itself to its members and Swansea City supporters both locally and further afield.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I joined the Trust Board in 2021. My passion for the club & the Trust is about doing whatever we can to ensure the Swans are still here in another 100 years for current & future Jacks – Covid gave me the opportunity to take an early retirement package after over 38 years working for a major UK Bank – predominantly leading teams across the South West of England & South Wales – so whilst I live on the English side of the bridge I now have some free time to offer & hopefully I learnt a few things that could be of use to the Trust.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I applied for a co-opted vacancy on the Trust Board in August 2022 as I wanted to make a more positive contribution to the club I’ve avidly supported since the mid-1970s. An opportunity presented itself when I learned of the Trust’s intentions to develop an action plan on sustainability and to consider the environmental impact of its work. I have an extensive background in preparing plans on sustainability and protecting the environment, and I’m delighted to be able to use my knowledge and experience to help take this work forward.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I have been a member of the Trust since its inception. I was co-opted to the Board in March 2022 and became a full Board Member following the recent elections. The Trust is in an enviable position, having permanent representation on the Board of SCFC and a guaranteed minimum holding in the Club. I am impressed by the communication between the Trust Board and senior management at the Club and am sure this will continue to strengthen in the future. With my background in negotiation/ & communication, as well as finance & governance I believe I can make a positive contribution to the Trust Board.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

Joined on the 5th August 2024. As a long time Swans Supporter I wanted to give help and support to the Swans Trust who have done a great job over the years.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I joined the Trust Board in August 2021; I have been a Jack for 58 years, born on the Gower, played in the local Senior League with Velindre, my highlight was when we won the West Wales Cup in 1973 at The Vetch. I was Swansea District Secretary for the Boys Clubs of Wales under the secretaryship of the infamous referee Clive ‘The Book’ Thomas and Chairman Ivor Pursey who was the Swans President. Despite working away in London for 20 years I remained an avid fan of my home team and have attended matches all over the country; nothing like a cold, wet Tuesday evening at Gigg Lane in the 4th division.

Now that I am retired with time to spare, I felt that maybe I could give something back to my club who had given me some incredible memories both good and not so good either at the infamous Vetch Field, The Liberty and now at The Swansea.com Stadium throughout my life as a proud Jack wherever I visit.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I stood for election to the Trust Board in 2024. The excellent initiatives and objectives set in place by the Trust will continue to bring success, with a voice for our supporters. It is extremely important for this group to be listened too and feedback is acted on so we are effective and efficient.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I applied to join the Trust in 2024 to help represent and engage with our diverse supporter base, especially the younger generation. I have a deep-rooted passion for the club and the city. I have been a season ticket holder since 2009, and I am committed to upholding the culture and history of the club, helping the younger generation fall as madly in love with the Swans as I am.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I have been a member of the Trust since its beginning and joined the Board as a co-opted member in 2017. I had become concerned that the limited capacity of the stadium during the Club’s Premier League days was making it very difficult for most youngsters to get tickets for games and saw this as a threat to the future of Swansea City as a community club.

The Trust did not seem to recognise this and had very few junior members, indeed the age profile of its members was even higher than that of the matchday crowds. Over thirty years working in senior educational management within the Swansea area meant that I had developed extensive links with local schools and colleges and I looked for a way of utilising these to bring more young people into contact with both Club and Trust.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

August this year. It’s something I’ve thought about for a while, and after a discussion earlier in the year with a member of staff from the club I was convinced. I see a lot of comments on social media from fans giving ideas and it is my intention to relay them to the Trust and the club to help improve the matchday and supporter experience.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I stood for election to the Trust Board in 2018 to put my experience and energy into making sure the Trust plays a strong and positive role in representing Swans supporters. I grew up in Swansea and have supported the Swans all my life, through the difficult years and the good times.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I joined Swansea City Supporters’ Trust Board in August 2025 because I care about the club and what it stands for. Football has always been a big part of my life. Some of my best memories are of going to games with my grandfather who was originally from Swansea and that’s where my love for the club really began. Supporting Swansea City has been the glue to make my connection to the team stronger and worthwhile. I wanted to join the Trust to represent younger fans and make sure their voices are heard, especially those who support the club from outside Swansea but still feel that deep connection. Being part of the Trust is a chance to give something back and help shape the future of a club that means a lot to me.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I joined the Swansea City Supporters Trust Board as a Co-opted Member on August 4th 2026. I have supported Swansea City throughout my life, albeit mostly from across the waters whilst serving in the military. With a deep commitment to Swansea City’s heritage and a proven record of community leadership through Swansea Veterans Hub, I bring experience, integrity and a passion for serving the wider Swansea City community.

When and why did you join the Swans Trust Board?

I am a new member of the board for the 26/27 season. I believe the fans are Swansea City’s most important asset, and as such I have an aspiration to help improve the full spectrum of the fan experience.
The Supporter’s Trust Board provides a proactive environment in which to contribute my efforts in this regard.
